Corie & Mike | Burlap and Beams | Albany NY Wedding Photographer | Chelsea Bos Photography

Get ready to smile, a lot. I dub this wedding the wedding of every weather.

I’m emotionally attached to this wedding because this is a wedding the reminded me why I photograph weddings.

The plan:  Take first look photos out by the beautiful water. After, take full bridal party photos nearby at decided upon locations, hide so the guests don’t see Corie, outdoor ceremony,  and enjoy a first dance outdoors.

^ None of that happened.

The weather could not make up it’s mind.  Right before the first look it started to pour.  I’m not talking a little bit of rain I’m talking the kind of rain that will completely soak you in ten seconds or less.  It was not safe for our bride to even use an umbrella to get to a location.  So we had to do a first look on a teeny tiny porch.  Guess what, Mike and Corie smiled and did not care.

My team, Kristen and Eva (who are awesome) and I got completely soaked as we packed up to head to the venue.  Shoe squishing, hair ruined, why did I wear makeup today sort of soaked.  We made it to the venue and the sun came out blazing!  But another storm was rolling in.  The coordinator approached them and said an outdoor ceremony was risky and they shrugged their shoulder and said, okay, we will get married wherever.

So they got married on their dance floor, the guests crowded around and made their own little aisle. And everyone smiled and was happy.

The clouds parted and cocktail hour was gorgeous.  The first dance location was mostly outdoors, but as luck would have it, right before it was go time, another down pour.  Corie and Mike shrugged and said “we don’t care we will just dance in between the tables”.  I mean, look at the pictures, they had like, 3×3 space to dance. <3

I watched them shrug off issue after issue.  Mike’s coat got soaked before the day even started so Corie smiled and said “then don’t wear it!” The guests started to arrive before Corie got to hide and she shrugged and hugged and greeted her guests.

The circumstances of their day could have easily been stress factors or reason for disappointment, but they didn’t let it! And it was AMAZING!!  You’ll see, check these photos out of the happiest couple maybe ever!
